This course introduces the key tasks, rights, and responsibilities of union representatives (shop steward, luottamusmies) and occupational safety representatives (työsuojeluvaltuutettu). Participants will become familiar with the main provisions of the Occupational Safety and Health Act and the statutory duties of occupational health care.
The course also covers the essential provisions of the Employment Contracts Act, the relevant collective agreement, and the Annual Holidays Act. Additionally, participants will learn how to identify ways to develop their own skills and competence in a new representative role.
After completing the course, participants will be able to:
Describe the key tasks, rights, and responsibilities of a union representative or occupational safety representative.
Identify the key provisions of the Employment Contracts Act, the collective agreement, and the Annual Holidays Act.
Identify the key provisions of the Occupational Safety and Health Act.
Explain how to develop their own competence in a representative role.
